Hanovertown Farm - Produce Source Partners

Hanovertown Farm is a 4th generation farm owned and operated by the Rice family since prior to 1918 and has been in continuous agricultural production since that time. Hanovertown is a farm of historical significance and formerly functioned as a colonial-era town. During the civil war, the union army crossed the Pamunkey River through the farm on the way to a battle at Cold Harbor. In addition, Lafayette, George Washington, and other historical figures passed through Hanovertown. The farmland was previously inhabited by native peoples as evidenced by the many artifacts collected from the fields and area around the property. Primary agricultural production has been focused on grains, including soybeans, wheat, corn, watermelons, and cantaloupes.
