Produce Source Partners (PSP) was formed in 2003 when three Virginia family-owned produce companies joined forces. Saville Produce of Newport News, Baker Brothers Produce of Richmond, and Quality Produce of Roanoke banded together to form what is now Virginia’s largest independent produce distributor.

PSP specializes in the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of fresh local produce as well as a wide range of products for a diverse customer base. PSP is a member of Pro*Act, the nation’s largest procurement organization for fresh fruits and vegetables to the foodservice industry. Our clientele consists of convenience stores, restaurants, supermarket chains, schools, and universities.

We are committed to working with the local farming community to move product from farm to table. Our vision is to be our customer’s first choice in fresh and local product. That vision is made possible with the dedication of our 275 associates who have a passion for delivering fresh food and great customer service to our customers. Timeline

• 1929

  William C. Bova forms Quality Produce in Roanoke.

• 1933

  Harry Saville starts Saville Produce in Newport News.

• 1986

  Bruce and Bill Baker of Richmond form Baker Brothers Produce in partnership with Norman Saville of Saville Produce.

• 1997

  Baker Brothers Produce forms its own in-house, fresh-cut fruit and vegetable processing plant.

• 1999

  Baker Brothers Produce, Saville Produce, and Quality Produce join Pro*Act.

• 2000

  Baker Brothers forms Old Colony to specializes in retail grocery products. Old Colony created a robust, Virginia-grown, local produce program.

• 2003

  Baker Brothers Produce, Quality Produce, and Saville Produce merge to form Produce Source Partners, the largest independent produce distributor in Virginia.

• 2006

  Produce Source Partners opens a 125,000 square foot operation center in Ashland. With facilities in Ashland, Roanoke, and Newport News. Servicing customers across the state of Virginia as well as Maryland, Washington DC, and North Carolina.

• 2012

  Produce Source Partners’ Ashland Ashland warehouse and processing operations center becomes SQF 2000 Level 3 certified, the premier food safety certification in our industry.

• 2017

  Produce Source Partners’ Ashland operation center becomes Green Business Certified - Platinum Level.
